A Very Long Week

I had a very long, nothing fun kinda week.  I spent the majority of my day Monday going into downtown Nashville to handle some business for the PTO.  Ok I got that checked off my list.  Monday evening was spent at football practice and basketball tryouts.  Basketball is for Peyton and I think he will have a lot of fun with it.  Several of his friends are playing as well.  The season for that begins just as Dalton finishes football.  ALL DAY Tuesday was spent helping Peyton with a science project that was over the top time consuming.  Wednesday I thought I was finally going to have a productive day but something was not right with Sylvie.  I went through the McDonalds drive thru to get my Dr. Pepper and she did not want any chicken nuggets.  Strange.  She had what looked like a mosquito bite on her right leg that was bothering her.  When she finally woke from her nap she had a fever.  By dinner time the bite on her leg was huge and hot to the touch.  It scared me.  It was after hours so Chris took her to a clinic.  They put her on an antibiotic.  She was so sick and pitiful Wednesday night.  Thursday she was a little better but still sick.  Friday morning I wanted her regular pediatrician to see her because the bite on her leg was not getting better.  She switched medicines and it really worked.  Thank goodness, it was really scaring me.  Have you ever googled insect bites?!  It is not pretty!  By this morning she was back to her old self.  What a relief.

Today was football.  It has been absolutely gorgeous weather all week and I was looking forward to being out in the fresh air.  Sylvie, Peyton and I went over to the park to play while Dalton's team warmed up and weighed in.

Dalton's team took a beating today.  We have really been frustrated with football the last 2 weeks.  The coach all of a sudden stopped using Dalton.  We are baffled?!?  He played great the first 4 weeks.  He did everything he was told and did really good.  Dalton gives up too much time and effort to not even get the reward of playing.  He is not upset that they lost the last 2 games but he is upset that he is not getting a chance to get in there and do his part.  When he does go in it is just a play or two and in a position that does not do much.  It is all Chris can do to keep his mouth shut.

Dalton did not spend too much time upset though.  After his game, he got to go to his friend's birthday party.  They were going to the hockey game and then spending the night.  He was so excited!  I hope he is having fun.  Dalton's friend's older brother is here spending the night with Peyton so everybody is happy.

It is fall break the next 2 weeks.  We are bummed that we are not going to Florida this year but I hope we can find some fun things to do.
