Bucket Fun

Last week was a busy week.  Vacation Bible School every morning.  Lunches out.  Birthday party.  Dalton had a 2 day football camp.

Crazy hair day at VBS.

The birthday party that Dalton went to was at a local family fun center: go carts, water bumper cars, putt-putt and batting cages.

I did not take any pictures of the football camp but Dalton really had a lot of fun with it.  I think this season will be so good for him.

This week is a much slower week.  Sylvie woke up a little too early for me so I put her in the bed with me with a poptart, cuppy and her shows on tv.  Now this is the way to have a Monday morning :o)

We decided to get dressed and meet Chris for lunch at the mall close to his work.  The kids love the food court.  Dalton and Sylvie like the candy machines too.

Today started off rough. We had some strong thunderstorms come through this morning at 4am and it woke up Sylvie and Peyton.  The storms lasted for several hours so it was hard to get Sylvie settled back down.

She was so cute playing today.  She was content and having fun with her toys.  Usually it feels like she is just a path of destruction pulling out what ever random drawer or cabinet she is near.  I am hoping this will be more frequent behavior now that she is getting a little older.  She was using the Easter buckets as shoes and drums.

Summer Vacation Week 2

Well I got the boys room painted.  I have ordered shelves and a wall decal quote, so as soon as those come  in I will be close to finished.  I still need to shop for curtains and some sort of new toy shelf.  Their old one is too juvenile.
Last week we had nothing planned and no where to go.  It was great.  The boys have been playing together a lot....other than video games....and it has been so nice to see.  They built a fort under my scrapbook table and I let them keep it up for days.  They used every quilt and blanket in the house.  Then  Dalton started setting all of Sylvie's toys around it, I am not sure why.

They tried to sleep in it but this is how I found them the next morning.  Look at Dalton in the recliner.  Crack me up!

On a boring note.  I filled my seasonal glass jar with gold fish.  I saw this huge box of patriotic gold fish and knew it would be a hit with the kids.

Of coarse some back yard time.

This little girl is FAST.

I keep finding Dalton in this bucket. Too cute.  My baby boy at heart.

Saturday was supposed to be a fun day.  Dalton's end of the season flag football party was Saturday and it rained almost all day. :o(  The team had rented the covered pavilion at the park, games, and even a big water slide.  We all decided to go ahead and gather because we had food made for 40 people.  But no games and no water slide.  A disappointed boy.

However, the rain cleared and the evening was still so much fun.  The Bjorklund's had a pool party and cookout.  The rain had really cooled things off so only the kids were crazy enough to still swim.  They played in the pool well after dark.  I did not take any pictures.

Chris had to work ALL DAY on Father's Day. Boo.

Now we are well into our third week of summer vacation.  Yesterday was great.  The boys started VBS.  Afterwards Sherri, Doris and I took all the kiddos to lunch at Cheddar's. This is a wonderful group of boys.  I love them all!  Even our "adopted cousin" Gabriel.

Today while the boys were at VBS, Sylvie and I went to the pool with a group from MOPS.  It was at the neighborhood pool of one of the mom's and I am ready to move there.  It is perfect!  Great for toddlers, slides for  older kids and it even had a pool in a separate area for adults only.

Ok that pretty much wraps up what we have been up to since my last post.  Happy first day of summer!!

Quiet Day

Today was a slow summer day.  The only time we left the house was to run by the bank and McDonald's to get a Coke.  While Sylvie napped I got the boy's room completely edged in. I will finish painting it during tomorrow's nap. I am excited about finally getting their room done.  We just kind of threw some bunk beds in there when lil' sis came along.
After nap, bank and McD's we played out in the back yard. Today was the first day of June that was below 90 degrees so outdoors we went.

I just love hanging out in my back yard.

I wish I had a ton more flowers in my yard....one day.

This girl cracks me up!

She packs a powerful kick.  Soccer player maybe?  She is still refusing anything in her hair.  She wants to be more like her big brothers than girly right now.

Date Day

I had a wonderful little date this afternoon with my Dalton.  I always love one on one time with any of my kiddos.  Chris was home, Sylvie was napping and I had errands to run and Dalton wanted to tag along.  We started at Starbucks then Kohl's.  He was so fun to shop with.  I tried on a shirt and he said he liked it so I new that was the one.
The entrance to the Stones River Greenway is at the corner of the Kohl's parking lot and I have always wanted to check it out.  We were in no hurry so we walked a little bit of the way and it was such a nice place to walk.  It is paved and shaded....we plan on going back and taking Sylvie for a walk.  Then we were off to JCP.  Dalton got a much needed pair of shoes.  He had worn his out!  We ended our outing with a late lunch at Which Wich.

Haircut!!

My dear sweet baby got a MUCH NEEDED haircut.  He looks sooo much better.  He is still sad it is gone but oh my he looks so good.

1st week of summer break

We are having fun here.  They say it is the hottest start to June in history....that part is not so fun.  It pretty much is indoors or water.  All the kids like the area pool that we can go to.  It is a little stressful with Sylvie but we will definitely be going again.  Trying to keep an eye on Sylvie I did not get out my camera until we were about to leave.
Our dear friends have had us over to their pool several times too.
Most of our time is spent with the boys playing video games with friends while I am doing housework.  There is just something that feels wrong about doing chores on summer break.  But I guess it has to be done.  Dalton is in the middle of this picture.  He tied one of his old gymboree blankets around his neck for a cape.  He is still such a little kid at heart.  I love that.
The boys finished up flag football and dance is over for the summer so there are NO activities planned on Saturday mornings.  Dalton loved flag football.  He was up, ready and rushing us out the door on game day. This is him bummed that the season is over.
We tried to go to the $1 summer movies Wednesday.  Sylvie was not having anything to do with sitting through a movie.  She wanted to talk to the people around us and play.  So we left the movie and walked around waiting for the restaurants to open up at 11.  Sylvie would not sit on the bench with her brothers.
Peyton IS getting that hair cut off.  I let him keep it long for school because he begged me and I did not want him to have to go back to school with such a drastic change but now it is GOING.

We got a new grill (Thanks Mom) and have been grilling out as much as possible....our freezer is stocked with some pretty awesome meat (Thanks Kathy and Leon).  I love it when we grill.  Dalton usually comes out to throw football with Chris and Sylvie wanders around doing her thing.  Chris was letting her try his orange soda last night.  She loved it.

Well that has been our week in a nut shell.  I hope everybody has a fantastic weekend.  We do not have the first thing planned.

Pool Party and Smores

Ok so I have totally gotten out of the routine of trying to blog :o(  Well, schools out for the summer and we intend on having some fun.
Last night we went to our dear sweet friend's, the Bjorklund's.  They always know how to throw a bash.  We all played in the pool, ate and then out came the smores.  These were a huge hit with the kiddos!

Today is the first Monday of summer break and Sylvie did not get the memo on sleeping in.  She was awake and yelling out for me at 6:30.  Which is actually ok.  Maybe I can have some productive mornings around here.  maybe.
